The Origin of the Corporate Name
SCOHIA is a neologism created by combining the name of the Japanese god of medicine, Sukunahikona, and the Japanese word for sound body-mind health, “sukoyaka.” Sukunahikona, worshipped in a shrine in Doshomachi, Osaka, is the model for the fairy tale about One-Inch Boy (or Issun-boshi), the little Japanese bonze (or business venture) who defeats the ogres (or diseases) and protects the princess (or people).
The Origin of the Logo
The One-Inch Boy motif overlays the “S” in SCOHIA. The freehand curve suggests graceful power and vibrancy into the future. One-Inch Boy’s chopstick symbolizes guiding SCOHIA through various difficulties and in the right direction.
We use blue as our corporate color as it is said to symbolize peace and ease of mind and is relevant to the future we aim for — a healthy and active lifestyle for all people. Furthermore, blue is the color of sincerity, which is the fundamental attitude of our corporation.
